Start of the summer league, and it appears another tough season is in store.

Last Seasons Champions Ex Service Matadors entertained Mrs T’S Barmy Army and with Kristian Thein hitting 2 twenty dart legs, Sam Hewson 19 and 14 darters and Nathan Careless with a couple of 18 darters they raced into a 3-0 lead.

Martin Bell 6 x 100, 123, 137 and legs in 18 and 20 darts responded for Mrs T’s , Matadors took both the doubles to lead 5-1, and then won 3 out of the 4 final singles to run out 8-2 winners.

Rick Garner 7 x 100, 2 x 140 was the singles winner for Mrs T’s, they also had high scores from David Tuplin 2 x 100, 3 x 140 and Lee Yates 5 x 100, 2 x 125, 140 Matadors Kristian Thein 3 x 100, 121, 123, 125, 127, 136, 137 2 x 140 , Sam Hewson 6 x 100, 120, 135, 139, 2 x 140, 180, Mark Thomson 5 x 100, 180, and Nathan Careless 3 x 100, 123, 140, 180 were also on the sheet, think they will take some stopping, but a team fancying their chances of stopping them are Highwayman, who inflicted a 7-3 defeat on Ex Service 501’s, with over 60 high scores between them.

Highwayman Scores were Wayne Clarke 5 x 100, 120, 2 x 140 , Lee Dore 5 x 100, 123, 125, 3 x 140, Dave Brewin 3 x 100, 2 x 121, 125, 140, Anthony Hulley 3 x 100, 2 x 140, and a 16 dart leg, with finishes of 100, 116 scores for 501’s Andy Hardy 4 x 100, 116, Wayne Burles 3 x 100, 137, 140, Pete Evans 5 100, 121, 2 x 140 and Gordon Smith 7 x 100, 2 x 125, 140

Liberal Lads and Countryman had a cracker of a game and despite the heroics of Paul Gelder 5 x 100, 119, 2 x 125, 134, 2 x 140 18 darts and Terry Cox 2 x 100, 132, 140, for the Liberal, it was to be the countrymans night as with the help of Ken Wilson 4 100, 110,121, 2 x 125, 3 x 140 19 dart leg, and Darrell Webb 4 x 100, 130, 2 x 137, 140, they ran out 6-4 winners

This is where the problems are, as the Dartaholics, failed to turn out at Wmc, giving the Amigo’s a 7-3 win.

Railroad Cobra’s took on and beat 3 player Liberal Club 7-3 despite James Jenkinsamazing 100 finish Seaview Raiders entertained Ex Service Spitfires and Rick Seaman 2 x 100, 3 x 140 gave the spitfires the first singles, but the home side responded withPeter East ,100 125 2 x 140 and 17 dart leg, Kieran Steven Emsen 2 x 100, 123, 2 x 140, 180 and Kevin West winning the next 3, Spitfires took both the doubles, Ian Dunn 100, 105, 111, 112, 121, 134, 135, Chris Butler 5 x 100, 140, and Lee Woods 2 x 100, 140 making it all square at 3-3 going into the final set of singles and with the away side 5-4 up, step up super sub Steven Benidorm Emsen to keep his nerve to win the game and force a draw 5-5

Friday 20th July is Pro Am Qualifer number 5 at Ex Service 8pm Registration

Sunday 22nd July at Workingmens Club we have a Summer round Robin tournament £3.00 entry 1.30 pm registration
