Ex Service Matadors took it to the countryman this week and dished out a 9-1 with Thomas Thornton getting Countryman@s solitary win over Sam Hewson, with 11 of the legs under 20 darts hitting over 30 sheet shots in the process, Sam Hewson hitting 2 x 15 dart legs, and scores of 3 x 100, 120,121, 125, 135, 2 x 140, and a 180, Kristian Thein 2 x 121, 139, 140,had a 16, and 18 dart leg, along with a 16 dart singles leg with partner Sam, Nathan Careless 3 x 100, 2 x 134, 141, and legs in 16, and 17 darts, and Rob Hewson hit a 16 and 2 x 18 dart legs 3 x 140, 125, 134, 5 x 140 and a 180, they will take some stopping me thinks, 2 games in and the message has been sent to all other teams to catch us if you can.Thomas Thornton was the pick of the Countryman with 5 x 100, 121, 3 x 140. 2 teams hoping to be pushing them met in Wainfleet as Mrs T’s Barmy Army took on Highwayman, and the home side raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to Martin Bell7 x 100, 180 and David Tuplin who rolled back the years 2 x 100, 116, 120, 121, 140 and a 16 dart leg, but step up Lee Dore 8 x 100, 2 x 125, 140 and Wayne Clarke 2 x 100, 117, 121, 125, 140 levelled things, the Highwayman won both the pairs to lead 4-2 going into the last set of singles, and with 1 single to go they were still leading 5-4, so guarenteed a draw at the least, but Dave Brewin 6 x 100, 121, 127, 140 was not settling for a draw as he beat Lee Yates 2 x 100, 120, Chris Simpson 4 x 100, 137, 138, 4 x 140 for the Highwayman, Rick Garner 6 x 100, 121, 3 x 140. Ex Service 501’s clashed with Liberal Lads , and with Rob Pomeroy 7 x 100, 135, 2 x 140 , Gordon Smith 7 x 100, 135, 180, Wayne Burles 4 x 100, 105, 2 x 140, they took the first 3 singles before Terry Cox 100, 2 x 125, 180 beat Pete Evans 4 x 100 in the last game to get Liberal on the score sheet, the home side then took both the pairs to lead 5-3 and took 2 each of the last singles to give the 501’s a 7-3 win Chris Fletcher came off the bench for Pete in the last singles, and despite hitting scores of 119, 121, 122, Gordon Mcquillan 3 x 100, 135 140 and 17 darter beat him, Mark Carter 4 x 100, 123, 134, 135, 2 x 140, and Eric Hammond 100, 140 also high scored for the Liberal .

Ex Service Spitfires Stormed to the top of the table after their fantastic 10-0 win over a spirited Railroad Cobras Ian Chamberlain 4 x 100, 140 being the pick of the Cobra’s while Spitfire had no less than 24 sheet shots Carl Parnham 5 x 100, 109, 137, 2 x 140, 180 and a 17 dart leg, Rick Seaman 3 x 100, 180 and a 146 finish Lee Woods 100, 134, 2 x 140, and Ian Dunn 100, 2 x 117, 133 , doing the most damage.
Highwayman and Seaview Raiders shared the opening singles 2-2 with Rob O’Brien 5 x 100, 111, 114, 121, and Maria Titre 100, 118, 120, for the Highwayman, and a big well done to Maria, as i believe she is the first lady to win a singles match in the league, if i am wrong, i am sure someone will let me know, the doubles were shared leaving it at 3-3 going in to the last set of singles, Adam Dickens 3 x 100, 114, 121, 2 x 133, 139, and Rob won the first 2 to give the highwayman a 5-3, and it was down to the 2 ladies to try and secure the win, but Maria couldnt match her heroics of her first singles as Ray Witton 3 x 100,101 proved too strong, and so to the last game and Raider’s Peter East 5 x 100, 2 x 121, 125 made no mistake as he beat Shanice P Titre 100, 105 to force a 5-5 draw.
Liberal us after struggling for a side last week,managed a full side this week, and taking on WMC Amigos, won the first set of singles 3-1 Jim Brown 2 x 100, 2 x 115, 120, and Paul Fox doing the most damage, Amigo’s came back winning both the doubles to leave things all square 3-3 with the last set of singles to to come, Stewart Giles 2 x 140 came off the bench for Liberal, and won his game, and despite Hayley Reeson 100, 115, for Liberal, it ended up another draw 5-5, Mick Seager 3 x 100, 101, abd Spencer Davis111, 121, the pick of the Amigo’s scores
