Doubles at the Seaview, and what a day, 32 players lined up all with aspirations of winning, and some cracking pairs drawn out, with some truly brilliant games followed, with a unique format of 2 singles, and a doubles to complete a game, all best of 3, all legs to count and round robin as well, meant that everyone had plenty of games. Would you believe we had a tie in 1 group, and had to have a play off to decide the winner, sorry i have not got any result sheets, they disappeared, so i cannot give any results, but i can tell you that Carl Abbiss and partner Russ Millar came out on top in the final, beating Karl Jon Forrington and Lee Yates 5-3 in the Final, after a long day. Well done to them all, It was a smoothly run competition that lasted a little longer than expected, thanks to all that turned out, the board marshal’s Wayne Clarke , Tracey Tuplin Chris Simpson made the day easier for me, thanks to Wayne Clarke for his help with the raffle and the donation of a prize, thanks also to Linda Wasbailey Kitching for 3 wonderful cakes.
